  8. This directory contains files used by the IDL Online Help
  9. system. Files with the suffix .hlp are the actual hypertext
  10. help files. Files with the suffix .cnt are "table of contents"
  11. files displayed by the "Contents" tab of the Hypertext help
  12. viewer. Files with the suffix .fts are full-text search index
  13. files generated by the viewer; if you have not used the full
  14. text search feature, you may not see any .fts files.

  16. The widget subdirectory contains text files displayed by IDL
  17. widget applications.
  18.  
  19. The register subdirectory contains text files displayed by
  20. the Unix electronic registration program. If you do not have
  21. a Unix system, you will not see this subdirectory.

  23. The motd subdirectory contains the "message of the day"
  24. file displayed when you start IDL.
